The new Martha's Vineyard hospital includes a medical/surgical unit, labor and delivery suite, intensive care unit, physical therapy department, emergency department with recovery suites, inpatient rooms, laboratories, and MRI suite. The building was the first healthcare facility to achieve a LEED Gold rating in Massachusetts. The increased efficiency saves thousands annually. A storm water retention pond, roof garden, and solar panels are just some of the sustainable features. The site was also programmed, designed and constructed using the Planetree Method of Care which centers patients in creating environments that promote healing and well-being.
