Lasell University: Science and Technology Center

PROJECT DETAILS:

The new state-of-the-art Science & Technology Center at Lasell University was built with the intention of expanding active and project-based learning, facilitating collaborative work on any scale, and supporting their Connected Learning Philosophy. The space houses 21 all-purpose classrooms, group study rooms, 29 faculty offices, an IT help desk, book store, and café atrium. Labs include those for athletic training, exercise science, mathematics, chemistry, biology, and those for multidisciplinary. Enhanced technology and mechanical systems were installed to aid student studies and faculty research. Preconstruction was able to reduce the project from three phases to one by planning for temporary modular units to replace classrooms, saving time and cutting costs.
